Have you ever had one of those days, or weeks, or months, maybe even years, where everything that could go wrong does, where everything is piling up and there’s no escape from the nerve-raking stress? Yeah, I know what it feels like…anyway, a great way to relieve that stress is to just yell, to rant. However, yelling scares people and ranting is annoying to others, so try do it quietly, through writing. Burn through a pencil, maybe two, scribble down your emotions, screw punctuation, grammar, and spelling. You’re angry! Get angry! Who cares if it’s legible, rip holes in the paper if you want! Do whatever it takes to rid yourself of the stress! Do it now!
And remember, don’t stress out about whether your sentence makes sense or not, just write! ;^D

I know that Groundhog’s Day is an old wives’ tale, but it’s still funny, the idea that in this technologically advanced world, we still rely on a groundhog to tell us if Spring has arrived. Anyway, today try satirizing this type of thing, the irony of rely on something primitive in an advanced world, or whatever else you can think of. Jut make sure it’s satire!

I admit, I’m actually coming up short on ideas lately, have been really busy. Anyway, this is suppose to be a group blog, not just Kelsey and I, but you guys too, so if you have any ideas, or any writing you’d like to share, send it, and I’m post it. In the meantime, keep those pencils sharpened and those fingers flexible, and keep writing!

Birthdays are one of the few, if not the only, celebration or holiday that everyone in the world, no matter race or religion, celebrates. So, today, either dream about birthdays to come, or about past birthdays, what made it great, the perfect gift, or write fictional about a character’s birthday, and something that happens. Perhaps the ninjas decided to attack Johnny as he played in the ball put at his own birthday party?

Going back to poetry, another form of poetry is called BLAST! poetry, where it’s basically venting, but with a twist. Though there’s no real parameters for things such as rhythm and meter or rhyme, the fun thing about this type is that the design is half the poem. The font size, all caps, the font, the placement, the shape of each word, all of it on the page matters and helps convey the anger and frustration that you’re releasing. Try it, it’s really fun! I said try it! TRY IT, DARN YOU! ;^)

Apparently Kelsey is also extremely busy…anyway, I promise from now on I’ll update more often. Anyway, watched a rerun of SNL today, and they had a joke about ADELE making everyone sad. So today, channel your sadness and depressive thoughts into a story or poem, in which the speaker has your thoughts. Even better, try writing about someone else reacting to those emotions.
Have fun!

Sorry I went off the radar there for a while, was really busy. Today, conveniently, test out metaphors an idioms, and try making your own!

I promised this blog was going to include poetry as well, so here it is. Limericks are funny poems that have a 9, 9, 6, 6, 9 syllable pattern, and a A, A, B, B, A rhyme scheme. Try one out! Remember, make it funny and silly, no serious and deep thought-provoking stuff today!

Mod Kelsey here~
Have you ever had that one thing that just makes your emotions fly through the roof? Maybe it’s a new song, or a particularly thrilling TV show. For me, it was a new commercial (Well, it was my favorite band and my favorite drink, weaknesses). Let your emotions run wild today, and write an emotional piece of writing.Â
Bonus Challenge: Write happy emotions instead of sad. (I tried to write one happy thing for class, and it took two weeks!)

A bracelet, a book, the moon, brown eyes. These can all be symbols. Yep, today we’re using symbols. They really do help convey a deeper meaning, and can help boost a book from a third grade level to a college level, just by adding a symbol. So try it. Have some object that reoccurs throughout the book represent something, something deep and meaningful, powerful and important. Try it!
